Take Shelter against the risks of unemployment and/or disability

BUSINESS LINK EASTERN COUNTIES EDITION - 1ST MAY 2002

Leading payment protection insurance broker Burgesses have recently launched Shelter; a package of low cost income protection against the risks of unemployment and/or disability.

Underwritten at Lloyd’s, Shelter will provide a tax-free monthly benefit of up to £2,500 after a waiting period of only 30 days. Cover is available to all UK residents below retirement age, irrespective of occupation, gender or employment status.

In fact, Shelter’s occupation criteria is the widest on the market allowing employed, self-employed, contract workers or even owner-directors of companies who work on either a full or part-time basis to be covered, provided that they work for a minimum of 20 hours a week.

Premiums too are highly competitive and tax-deductible for the self-employed. For example, a policyholder wishing to insure a monthly income of £1,000 for up to 12 months would pay only £25 per month.
