‘Shop around’ for good deal

KILBURN TIMES - 2ND MARCH 2005

Homeowners could save over £7 billion it is claimed.

Burgesses Ltd, the exclusive-appointed providers of mortgage payment protection insurance to the 2000 members of the British Insurance Brokers’ Association, says its research shows that homeowners could save over £7 billion on mortgage payment protection insurance.

It says the total could be saved by some two million UK homeowners by switching their mortgage payment protection insurance from the traditional mortgage lenders to its new policy.

The new scheme not only guarantee savings to homeowners of at least 33 per cent on monthly premiums, but also offers a wide range of benefits.

Managing director Simon Burgess says: “Mortgage borrowers should not feel obliged to take out their lender’s mortgage payment protection insurance cover. By spending just a little time shopping around for the best deal from a reputable provider, borrowers can make significant savings.”
