Payment protection for your mortgage

A recently re-launched mortgage payment protection insurance scheme from Burgesses provides three months free cover.
Called securityfirst.co.uk it’s available to new and existing mortgage borrowers aged between 18 and 65.
It provides cover against unemployment or disability risks up to £1500, or 65% of your gross earnings.
The policy is available to self employed and contract workers, as well as part time employees.
The offer means the first payment need not be made until three months after the policy is taken out.
For £18.75 a month a householder could receive £500 a month if he or she became unemployed or disabled.
