Guard those repayments
MEDWAY EXTRA - 9TH MARCH 2007
Following news that more properties were repossessed in 2006 than in any year since 2000, Simon Burgess from British Insurance is urging homeowners to ensure they have insurance that will pay out in the event of accident, sickness or unemployment.
The Council of Mortgage Lenders is warning that repossessions are likely to creep up to 19,000 this year and predicts they will top 20,000 in 2008.
Mr Burgess: “Never before has the need for mortgage payment protection insurance been so apparent, but when times are tough, this cover is often overlooked.”
Mortgage payment protection insurance could make the difference between keeping and listing a home.
“It is perceived as expensive, but isn’t if sourced from the right provider.”
