City underwriting agency, Burgesses has launched Equality, a mortgage payment protection insurance that provides individual or joint cover against the risks of disability and unemployment irrespective of age, gender, sex or occupation. Cover also includes sexually transmitted diseases, such as HIV, and the physical complications that arise from pregnancy.
Equality is available to all UK residents aged between 18 and 65 and will pay the full costs of owning a home or £2,500 per month whichever is the lesser after a waiting period of 30 days.
It is underwritten at Lloyd’s, is complaint with ABI guidelines and is purchased upon completion of a simple proposal form without the need for medical examination.
