Burgess puts income protection in Safe hands

Health insurance specialist Burgesses is offering DisabilitySAFE, an income protection insurance plan which is aimed particularly at professionals paid hourly.
The package is available to individuals and businesses. Burgesses’ says the Governments’ curtailing of state disability benefits has created opportunities for low-cost income protection which covers a range of circumstances. It is offering the package to all occupations, including those classified as high-risk.
The product is not a radical departure from other products on the market as permanent disability, accidental loss of sight, hearing and limbs and accidental death are all catered for. But it does carve a niche by being attractive to certain professions such as the legal profession and accountants, for whom the calculation of benefits based on annual income is unsuitable
High-earners or people in high-risk occupations are therefore more likely to appreciate the product.
