Brokers lose mortgage payment protection insurance commission

Mortgage payment protection insurance may be rising in popularity but brokers could be losing out on nearly £500 million a year in commission through missed sales opportunities, research conducted by underwriting agency Burgesses has revealed. Simon Burgess, managing partner, added: “Mortgage payment protection insurance premiums have reduced significantly in recent months.”
