Unemployment, accident & sickness insurance Cancellation and Review of Premiums
This section covers your premium payments, their frequency and situations when the policy will no longer be in force. It advises what to do if you change your mind and want to cancel your policy after purchase and reminds that insurers have a right to cancel or review premiums as well. Timescales and protocols are also detailed.
Cover operates on a monthly basis and continues for each month you pay your premium.
Please note that cover cannot continue after you retire from employment, when you reach the age of 65, you die or if you stop paying the premium.
You can cancel for any reason during the initial 30 day cooling off period and after that by giving 14 days notice in writing to the administrator. Equally insurers can cancel by giving you 90 days notice in writing to your last known address.
Insurers have the right to review premiums and if they change they will give you 60 days notice in writing at your last known address.
