It is possible to find cheap payment protection insurance

- 4TH JULY 2007

The payment protection insurance (PPI) sector has been brought to the consumer’s attention recently for all the wrong reasons, extortionate premiums and the mis-selling of policies being two of the main problems. However despite all the bad publicity, it is still possible to find an honest and ethical provider who offers cheap payment protection insurance.

One of the leading ethical and specialist providers is British Insurance. British Insurance offer cheap payment protection insurance while providing a quality product and great free advice to ensure you get the cover you need.

Payment protection insurance is bought as a safety net and will pay out for up to 12 months (with some provides, up to 24 months) if the worst comes to the worst and you are out of work through accident, unemployment or sickness. The policy will cover your monthly repayments by providing a sum of money 30 days after being out of work and, with the British Insurance policy, will pay back from day one.

The cheap payment protection insurance provided by British Insurance is frequently featured on websites and has won best buys awards and is one of the reasons why British Insurance and Simon Burgess are recognised as being the “good guys” in the sector.

Simon Burgess has always spoken openly when it comes to the high street bank ripping off the consumer: “It is the high street banks and lenders which give the sector a bad name” he says, adding that payment protection insurance, when sold correctly is an invaluable product. “However, its reputation is blighted by the shoddy treatment given to their customers by the larger organisations” he fumes.

The Financial Services Authority is currently looking into the sector as well as the in depth review by the Competition Commission and Simon welcomes this with open arms. One of the changes that are hoped for is that the products are made easier to understand for the consumer and that they are aware that the cover isn’t compulsory.
