British Insurance is one of the UK’s leading independent Unemployment, Accident and Sickness insurance providers.   By only offering products online and leveraging our relationships with insurers, we can keep costs low and invest in making our policies as inclusive as possible, without compromising on benefits or support services.    

In 2005, we received approval from the Government to use the word British in our Company name - to do this we had to demonstrate pre-eminence in our field.  Today, we’re part of the Towergate Partnership – Europe’s largest independent insurance intermediary.   

We use our site, not just as a means to allow you to purchase cover, but as a tool to provide you with the information you need to make an informed decision about whether to buy this insurance.

What we do

We provide Unemployment, Accident and Sickness Insurance online.   This cover is also referred to as Payment Protection Insurance (PPI), Accident, Sickness and Unemployment cover (ASU), Redundancy or Unemployment Cover, plus Income, Mortgage or Loan Protection insurance.

Whatever it’s called – the principles are broadly the same – to pay out if your monthly income stops due to unemployment, an accident or sickness.  The policy replaces that lost income with a pre-agreed monthly sum and continues to inject cash into your household until you’re able to secure another job or fit to go back to work.  Monthly insurance payouts can continue for up to one year.
